Random Gig

Bob, Dad and I (Merlson) played the most random gig last night. We played the Director's Circle Banquet at a Catholic retreat center in a Detroit suburb. It was so random but one of the BEST gigs we've played in a long time! The average age of the crowd was about 70 and all of these seniors were mouthing every word to every song we played. It was so fun playing to a crowd who grew up on the old jazz standards that we play. It felt more like a concert than a gig and it was really challenging. We're not always used to people sitting and listening, it really was a treat.

Any excuse to wear my new Kate Spades ;)

It was the MOST 70's-tastic room ever. I mean, mustard velvet couches, score!

Well, two more days to get ready for our Alaska trip! I'm feverishly buying last minute things (hiking boots, more wool socks, etc.) and attempting to find time to pack. Tonight we have choir. Where did this day go?!?!
