for a belated Father's Day present. 

Hard Times

I wasn't sure I could love Gillian Welch & David Rawlings anymore than I did, but when they released their latest album, The Harrow and the Harvest, I was proven wrong. You know when you find a CD that is just so great, and you love every single song, that you just can't stop listening to it? I love when that happens, and it doesn't happen often. I guess that because it doesn't happen often is kind of what makes it so great though. Alright, enough rambling. 

Seriously though, take a look at this video a devoted fan put together for the track "Hard Times". Gillian and David aren't the music video type, so this is the next best option. It's kind of great though. The images from the old film really go great with the feel of the song. If you get a chance to see them live, don't pass it up. They are one of those bands who are even better live! 

Also, if you're interested, check out this great interview they recently did on Fresh Air for NPR. They are so talented, and genuine and bottom line, David Rawlings is my harmony hero.
