oxblood

I'm obsessed with oxblood, there, I admit it. It's the only color that has really struck a chord with me since my obsession with grey (which is still going strong I might add). Oxblood, the color, doesn't refer to the oxen, as you may first think, it actually references "oxygenated blood", the color when blood is exposed to air and turns a deep dark red. To me, this color defines this years colder months, it's luxe, deep, passionate and thoughtful. The funny thing is, I pretty much hate all other shades of red, unless on my nails or lips. Red and I don't get along, but oxblood and I are becoming the best of friends. Others might refer to this color as burgundy or wine, but that's not accurate nor is it nearly as bad ass. Here are a few of my favorite looks using this color from some of my favorite fashion bloggers...

Bea from Atlatic-Pacific

Ahn from 9 to 5 Chic

Krystal from This Time Tomorrow

Alicia from Cheetah is the New Black

Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere

I've recently invested in an oxblood faux fur snood from Target which is fabulous and a pair of oxblood Hudson pants with a neon pink tuxedo stripe!
I'm sure you'll see them in upcoming posts :)
