Belated Weekend Update

Last weekend was great and my photos have been trapped on my camera! Friday night I went to the Girls Night at The Rustbelt and got a massage, dinner, a hand peel and a hair cut for the price of $20, which goes to charity! It was a great event and I hope The Rustbelt continues to host charity events like this in the future. Saturday was devoted completely to Clara! Clara and her parents came into town to visit the family and we had such a good day getting to know her. She's 3 weeks old now and so perfect. Sunday after church, we went back to Bob's apartment and made crab legs for lunch! Because... why not?!

My hairdresser, Brad was cutting hair at the event and
it just so happened I needed a trim. score.

It wouldn't be girls night without and impromptu dance party!

Creative Dad

Check out these amazing shots by photographer, Jason Lee, of his adorable two little girls, Kristin and Kayla. The girls with their Dad came up with some amazing concepts and created the most unique family photos I've ever seen!

So creative and so adorable.

London in Detroit

We played yet another fun gig at the lovely London Chop House with a different rhythm section than usual, it was fun to be a bit more challenged and to be forced to really keep your ears open. Our friend Luis took some amazing snap shots of the evening and I am excited to share them with you!

Poor Bob gets so tucked away on this stage, he's behind me!

Our friend Dolores and her hubby came out to the gig.

Cool Factor

So, I ran across this photo of one of the Olsen twins. I'm guessing it's Ashley due to the blonder locks. And the first thing that ran through my head was- I want to look that cool everday.

Seriously! How does she do it?!

Here's to being cool girl, you nailed it.

The Cadieux Cafe

Last night, The Bob Mervak Trio featuring The Motor City Horns played at the historical Cadieux CafeThe Cadieux is traditionally a Prohibition era Belgian club and is the only place in the US where you can go Feather Bowling! They are known for their steamed mussels and wide variety of Belgian beers. The Cadieux was recently featured on Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations". The clip is featured on the Cadieux Cafe's website.

Since we were near Grosse Pointe, where my Mom grew up, she took me by her childhood home and the apartment she and my Dad lived in as newlyweds.

My parents old apartment building.

The home my Mom lived in from 8th grade until she was 18.

Jimmy, the trumpet player in The Motor City Horns is engaged to Bob's sister, Liz!
