I stumbled across this video a few months back and still cannot listen to this song enough. Lana Del Ray, 25, is a New Yorker and self proclaimed, "Gansta Nancy Sinatra". Her husky sultry voice is so enticing and very easy on the ears. I love how the lyrics are super modern but the sound and the melody is very vintage. I really hope she does well. I love her look and I love her sound. She should be releasing a full length album in January. She seems to be one of those YouTube stars, without much material quite yet, she only has an EP out right now, so I hope she can keep up with her new found fame. Interestingly enough, her video is essentially a commentary on the illusions of Hollywood fame. She really has that raw talent, and I'm so glad to see musicians like her have their music received so well.
I'm rooting for this one!
