The Civil Wars

I've been wanting to do a post on The Civil Wars for a while and since we saw them live last night, I think today is a good day to share with you one of my favorite duo's. The Civil Wars consist of Joy and John Paul, they hail from Nashville and Alabama, they were both singer songwriters on their own and met each other at a songwriting camp about 2 years ago. They are so wonderful together. Their writing is fantastic, and their voices together are perfect. These two are made to sing together. I can't say enough great things about these musicians. They are a MUST in every music library.

I hope you love them as much as I do! It's so thrilling that music like this, made by such talented people is still being recognized and celebrated. Two of their songs, Barton Hollow and Poison and Wine are on the VH1 Top 20 countdown right now! I'm so happy for this duo I accidentally ran across about a year ago. My Dad and I went to one of their shows at the bar, in the Crofoot Ballroom, in Pontiac. There were about 75 people in the room, squished like sardines and it was well worth the discomfort!

Enjoy!
