A Wedding in Redding & Adventures in San Fran

Our dear friend David got married recently! He and Bob have been friends since high school, along with Bob's brother Daveo. It was a beautiful outdoor northern CA wedding, everything was DIY, even down to the bride's cousins cooking the food! Here are some beautiful pics of the event (scroll down further to see photos of our San Fran Vacation!)

Father and Son

Such a lovely evening for two lovely people who we love.
love love love.

In the meantime, Bob and I thought we should turn this weekend into a trip! He had never been to San Fran and I hadn't been since I was real little. We had 3 days to explore the city, meet up with friends, eat some truly AMAZING food (Burma Supreme- I dream about you). I also really wanted to see some Red Woods- so we visited Muir Woods, just outside of the city. It was such an incredible experience. Being in those woods felt really holy, for lack of a better word. These trees are alive and they have stories.

For reference, see the people to the right. I really liked how these trees grew in a circular formation, it's like they're all hanging out together!

We stayed at the most adorable Air BnB in Nob Hill. We had a rooftop apartment overlooking the bay!

Alright San Fran, you won us over...

Tassel Jelly

A couple months ago I was sitting in a meeting at work and this necklace just popped into my brain- I HAD to make it. My Mom makes jewelry and has a little shop, so I've always known how to make pieces myself and have made many things over the years but this necklace in particular just had to happen.

I made 4, posted them to my social channels, sold 3 in one day and got a commission for another! I call them Tassel Jelly necklaces. My favorite animal is jelly fish, so that may have something to do with my love for this necklace. check it out!

So, I've ordered a couple more stones in different colors and intend to make more! So happy others are also loving these beauties!

Paper Sculptures

Artist Peter Gentenaar is a print maker in the Netherlands. He couldn't find the type of paper he needed to create a project he was working on. So he made his own paper and draped it, while still wet on bamboo. The shapes that were created were fluid. His most recent collection is on display in St. Petersburg.

Kalamazoo in the Spring

Bob and I spent the weekend in Kalamazoo visiting his brother Dan, his wife Amy and our niece Clara. Amy is also expecting a little boy in about a month! We went to two concerts (one was a Ben Folds solo show- amazing! check out Bob's instagram for a snippet @bobmervak), played with our niece, baked banana bread and read so so so many books.

On our way out to Kzoo, we stopped at a really beautiful park that Bob had been wanting to go to and went for a walk. Its such a treat to be outside!

Baking banana bread with Clara!
She was really good at shmoosing the banana's!

Clara's first bubbles!

Bob's brother, Dan. Notice the Oberon? Yay Kzoo brewing!
You know it's spring when you see Oberon on the shelves. :)

We had such a nice visit with our family.
