Cranbrook

One of my favorite places on earth is Cranbrook. Cranbrook is a school, grades K-12 and also has some of the best Masters programs for Architecture and Fine Arts. There is a science museum, art museum and theatre company all on campus as well. Most of all, the grounds are breathtaking, built at the turn of the century and maintained to their original splendor. Bob, Ceil and I had a fantastic Saturday exploring the grounds, which never gets old and continuously amazes me.

If you are ever in Detroit, a day at Cranbrook is a must.
It looks different depending on the season.
Our album cover was shot in the house gardens!

Detroit Fun

With this being my sister Celia's last weekend in town, we wanted to spend lots of time together doing fun and fab things. Friday night me, Ceil and Bob did just that! We started with dinner at Chen Chow in Birmingham, not impressed, wouldn't suggest it. After dinner we headed down town to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) for their Friday night concert series and found ourselves in a photo exhibit. We then went to Motor City Wine, which is such a cute little spot, to see our friends jazz trio play. After some sangria we headed to Union Street, a well known Detroit bar and had a few drinks with our friend Nick, who is bartender there. It was a fun evening with two of my favorite people!

This little guy is the only piece in the museum you can touch.
He's become quite famous.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Prada Spring 2012

I ran across Prada's Spring 2012 accessories collection today and it has me wishing for spring! I am really loving this collection because it is so wearable. These shoes would look good on any woman and are functional for day to day wear but still have that glamour and attention to detail that makes Prada so special. And of course the bags are major. Take a look!

Photo Challenge

I will admit it- I am an Instagram addict. This little app on my iPhone has completely changed the way I take photos and has inspired me to put more thought into the photos I take. The other thing about Instagram, which I did not realize when buying it for the photo editing tools, is that it's a photo sharing community! I love following fellow bloggers, brands, celebs and plain strangers, many from different countries. If you have an iPhone or iPad, I highly recommend getting the Instagram app.

For the month of January, a Photo Challenge was proposed in the Instagram community and I have decided to participate! I will be posting them in bunches for you to see as well. I love the concept of a photo challenge because it inspires and challenges you to make everyday things beautiful.

Here lies the challenge!

Grey

Well, it's been a while since I've reaffirmed my affection toward the color grey. So today, I will share some images and new color combos that only prove further that it is an amazing, versatile and inspiring color!!!

I love this mix of mid century and antique. Grey can be a fantastic alternative to
white, as it is a neutral tone, but still warm and more interesting than taupe.

This is such a glam alternative to the traditional brown base smokey eye.

I never would have paired grey with coral, but this is workin it!

Not only is this a gorgeous ring, I've been completely inspired by the
grey & gold combination. So classy!

Grey suits are makin a comeback!
Bob just bought one! It's very handsome.

Grey subway tiles. yes.
I also like the mixing of shades of grey. This is something I have not seen.

so cute!!!

Well, I hope I have inspired you to bring some grey into your life, with the
accent color of your choice of course.
Grey on!

NYE

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it's 2012. I rung in the new year with some of my favorite people and of course, as many sparkles as possible. Every year, my family goes to Comos Pizza in Ferndale on NYE, so we met up with my parents to keep with tradition. Then it was off to a delish sushi dinner before going to see Bob play at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. It was a nice evening up to about 12:05. After that, the scene kinda of shifted to a club like atmosphere-- not my bag. So my first hour of 2012 consisted of lots of techno music, if not my bag, at least entertaining!

Hope you had a Happy New Year!
Looking forward to 2012.
